Thanks to the World Wildlife Fund for sharing this
photo. It comes with a plea to support
their efforts to save Virunga, Africa’s oldest national park, covering over
3000 square miles. It is now threatened
by Soco International, which intends to commence oil exploration and
drilling in the park. These gorillas are
just one of many species whose habitat is threatened.
The park has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site
for over thirty years and the Democratic Republic of the Congo does have laws
in place to protect the area. The
connection between wildlife and humans means that they are also threatened by
oil exploration. Drinkable water, food
from fishing and renewable energy are all threatened. WWF calls for Soco to cease its attempt at
exploration and exhorts the DRC to enforce its protective laws. When we cease to respect and support our
natural resources and fellow creatures, everyone loses.
Relationships between humans are also important and can be threatened by many things, some as simple as the passage of time. I was interested to find that there are now online classes to learn how to maintain healthy, passionate and pleasurable intimate relationships. With an impressive array of doctor, counselors and relationship advisors, the free trials seems well worth checking out, if you value your important relationships.
