This little guy appears to have more holiday spirit than I do, despite the green grass and flowers in the background. While I'm usually happy with southern sunshine, this time of year makes me long for just a dusting of the pretty white stuff. Perhaps I just need to don a Santa suit to get in the mood for the holidays!

Christmas Spirit
This little guy appears to have more holiday spirit than I do, despite the green grass and flowers in the background. While I'm usually happy with southern sunshine, this time of year makes me long for just a dusting of the pretty white stuff. Border Collie
I had mixed feelings, when my daughter wanted a dog. We already had two cats and that seemed like an adequate pet family. My daughter felt differently and started researching different breeds. It wasn’t long before she had narrowed her options and began checking classified ads, looking for border collie puppies for sale. They weren’t inexpensive and I figured that would be the end of it.

First Impressions
You can't judge a book by its
cover? Maybe not, but it’s a rare dog (or human), who can disregard that
first impression.

Our Border Collie
It’s hard to
believe that it’s been eleven years since my daughter brought home a little
black and white ball of fluff that promptly curled up next to my leg and fell
asleep. Once he got rested from his
three hour car ride to our home, we rarely saw him sleeping. He’s slowed down a bit in the last couple of
years, but he is still an energetic and enthusiastic dog, who is always ready
for a game of fetch.

Friends
While some people claim that cats and dogs don’t get along,
I disagree. Our pets have always been
good friends, who eat, sleep and play together.
We need to give them a little credit.
Many humans fail to live peacefully with their own species!

Snow Lover
The grass is still green and the leaves are just beginning
to turn, but a couple of frosts and a chill in the air tell me that snow will
be in the not too distant future.

The Goodwill Ambassador
This post brought to you by homemadedogfood.com. All opinions are 100% mine.

It has been almost ten years since this photo of our border collie was taken. Although he was still a puppy, my daughter had already dubbed him "the goodwill ambassador for dogs". With a loving and friendly disposition, he made friends with the neighborhood and even charmed adults and children who were scared of dogs.
