Winter Birds

I love to see birds at anytime of year, but miss all the birdsong that seems to be reserved for the warmer weather.

I wasn't sure why the birds were quieter in the winter.  Evidently, it's because one of the main purposes of their song is to attract mates.  So more songs are heard during the warmer weather of the mating seasons.  There are some exceptions, however. The Winter Wren is one, who doesn't let the cold weather diminish his volume.

I'm still looking forward to warmer days, when all the birds brighten the days with their harmonical tones.
