One of my best friends got a divorce last year. It feels weird typing that, but it’s true. And with the divorce rate being like 55% in the United States, I guess it was only a matter of time before one of my closest college buddies hung up the towel. I never knew his wife before they got married as they met after we graduated when he moved to Denver. I can say it now. I was never really a big fan. And without getting into too much detail, after I heard about how it all went down I’m glad he got rid of her. Good riddance.

If you need a passerelle for boats you better find a company that knows how to manufacture quality parts. The reason being is I can’t tell you how many boat owners that I know that have gotten absolutely skunked on buying bad parts for their boats. Living down here in South Florida it’s a good idea to keep your eyes on the pulse of what’s going on as far as boating.

You see I live here in Florida and have my whole life. I know boat owners and trust me I understand how expensive I can be to keep a boat running. I have friends that spend a small fortune on boat parts. Not to mention the coat of fuel. Forget it. You think that four dollars per gallon is a lot? That’s not the price you pay for fuel at a dock. They charge a huge premium when you buy fuel for a boat. After all you’re kind of a captive audience. It’s not like you can exactly pull your yacht out of the water and run it down to the nearest gas station.

But if you’re in the know you can always find quality parts. And for those in the know they know where to find the quality. Just ask around and you will know how to keep your boat up and running smoothly. But if you want quality you will have to pay for it. But like they say, you can either spend now or spend later.

Pumpkin Drinks

Fall makes me become totally and completely obsessed with pumpkin flavored anything. It all starts when I start seeing commercials for Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Lattes on direct TV. I am not one who frequents Starbucks because I really don’t need the extra calories that their specialty drinks add to my daily count or extra money they drain from my checking account. However, I can’t seem to pass a Starbucks without stopping in for at least a small one in the fall. Luckily, Dunkin Donuts has come out with a less expensive, and less calorific, substitute for the Pumpkin Spice Latte. They have pumpkin flavoring that you can add to your coffee, which unfortunately isn’t sugar free like the rest of their flavorings, but at least you skip all of the extra milk that comes in a latte. My last pumpkin obsession is Cottonwood’s Pumpkin beer. I have tried many other Pumpkin flavored beers and none hold a candle to this one, which is brewed right here in the Carolinas. Not only can I support my pumpkin addiction, but also the local economy!

Buying the first place

Buying my first house was a total rush although it is really scary writing someone a check for that much money! I love the idea of being a homeowner but there were so many things that went with it I almost got too overwhelmed to go through with it before I even signed on the dotted line. For example, I had no idea I had to get homeowner’s insurance to protect my house or that I’d need flood zone insurance since I was in a valley. I also didn’t think about things like www.wildbluedeals.com satellite or getting a lawn care company, either, so stuff just sort of added up by the end of the process. I’m really happy here, though, and I’m glad I went for it all the way because now I own this place outright and no one in the world can tell me what to do here or what time to be home! It’s the most adult thing I’ve ever done and I can’t believe it’s all mine.
