If I only had to play Santa to our dog, my budget wouldn't suffer a bit. It's not that he doesn't love to get presents. After fourteen Christmases, he knows what's happening when it's time to open the gifts under the tree. He sits by the tree, shivering in anticipation as the presents are distributed. One year, when money was tight, we wrapped a couple of his old tennis balls and put them under the tree. He ecstatically ripped off the wrapping and enjoyed them as if they were new.
The rest of the family is not so easy. Electric drums and an electric guitar top my granddaughter's list, along with some speakers, so she can blast her music at the neighbors. Her mother scratched speakers off the list in favor of headphones. We've both been searching the internet for the drums and guitar, but even the lowest prices are a bit daunting. I'm sure we'll figure something out and hopefully soon

I do believe that our dog is costing me more than my humans this year. She will take the toys and place them in her toy pile. The doggie treats she will want immediately; all of them.
